Flat Heated Chrome Towel Rail 500mm x 1000mm – FHTR5/10

If you need a mid-sized towel warmer, the Flat Heated Chrome Towel Rail 500mm x 1000mm is a mid-sized rail in our flat chrome range.

Where it goes

A 500mm by 1000mm rail fits most standard bathrooms and en suites without taking over the wall, and holds a bath towel and a hand towel comfortably. Plumbed into the heating like a radiator, it needs two radiator valves, which aren’t included. Bear in mind a chrome rail puts out less heat than the same size in white, so in a cold room it may not be enough on its own. Compare sizes in our straight towel rail section.

Size

• 500mm x 1000mm
• Chrome finish, straight bars
• Our code: FHTR5/10

If you’re swapping out an old rail, measure its pipe centres first. If the new rail doesn’t match, you’ll be moving pipes or using offset valves to bridge the gap.

Fitting tips

Mark the brackets with a level, as a rail that’s slightly off looks worse the longer it is. Plug and screw into solid masonry, or into studs on a timber wall. Wrap PTFE on the valve threads where needed, fill the system, and bleed from the top vent.

Common Questions

Will a new towel rail fit my old pipe centres?

Measure the old rail’s pipe centres first. If they do not match, you will need to move the pipes or use offset valves.

Can a towel rail go on plasterboard?

Use proper cavity fixings or screw into the studs, as a rail full of wet towels is heavy.

Is 500mm x 1000mm a good size for an en suite?

It suits most bathrooms and en suites, with room for a bath towel and a hand towel.
