The Float Valve High Pressure PART2 is a brass float valve that shuts off with a rubber diaphragm rather than a piston. As the float lifts, the arm pushes the diaphragm onto the seat, which tends to give a cleaner shut-off and less wear than an old piston valve.
Fitting a Float Valve High Pressure PART2
The high pressure version is meant for tanks and cisterns fed straight from the main. Check the supply before you buy, because on a low pressure feed this valve will fill slowly. Choose 1/2″ for most cold water storage tanks and cisterns, and 3/4″ for larger tanks where you need a faster fill.
Push the threaded tail through the tank hole with washers on both sides and tighten the backnuts. Then connect the supply and set the water level with the arm, so it shuts off below the overflow. If the valve chatters, the float arm or the water level may need a tweak.
Copper floats and other valves sit in Filling Valves.

Common Questions
Part 1 or Part 2: what sets this valve apart?
A Part 1 valve shuts off with a sliding piston and washer. A Part 2 closes by pressing a rubber diaphragm onto the seat, which usually gives a cleaner shut-off and less wear.
Can I fit it on a low pressure supply?
It will work, but slowly, because the high pressure seat is made for mains-fed tanks. For a tank fed from a header or low pressure supply, use a low pressure valve.
My Part 2 valve chatters as it fills. What can I do?
Chatter usually comes from ripples on the water bouncing the float. Check the arm is tight, the float is not waterlogged, and the water level is set so the float is not working at the end of its travel.
