FloPlast 135 Deg Branch TEE-WS43 40mm

The FloPlast 135 Deg Branch Tee-WS43 is a 40mm ABS Solvent Weld tee whose side branch comes in at an angle, already heading downstream. That makes it a better choice than a square tee where two busy wastes share a pipe.

Why fit the FloPlast 135 Deg Branch Tee-WS43

Water from the branch meets the main run going the same way, so there is less turbulence at the joint. That also cuts the chance of a full bath pushing water back up a shower waste. Forty mil is the usual size for baths, showers, kitchen sinks and appliances, so this tee gets plenty of use.

Before gluing, set everything out dry and mark the fitting, since the branch must face along the flow. Once the solvent cement is on there is little time to adjust. Cut the pipe square, take off the burrs, cement both surfaces and push fully home with a slight twist.

Common Questions

Is a swept branch better than a square tee for a bath and shower?

Usually, yes. The branch water joins already moving downstream, so a full bath emptying will not easily surge into the shower waste.

Can I use this tee on a 1 1/2 inch waste?

Yes. FloPlast give 40mm as the metric match for the old 1 1/2 inch waste size, so it suits the same jobs.

What cement should go on the joints?

Use a solvent cement made for ABS, such as FloPlast’s own SC125 or SC250. Coat both the pipe and the socket, push home with a twist and hold it still briefly.
