FloPlast ABS Solvent Waste Couplings 32mm to 50mm

The FloPlast ABS Solvent Waste Coupling is a straight socket that joins two lengths of FloPlast solvent weld waste pipe. Both our sites list it in 32mm, 40mm and 50mm, in white, grey or black. It is one of the FloPlast waste fittings you’ll use most, for extending a run, joining lengths or putting in a repair. It suits plumbers and DIY fitters alike.

It is made from ABS and joins with FloPlast SC125 or SC250 solvent cement. Cut the pipe square, take off the burr, cement the pipe end and the socket, push home and hold for a few seconds. The joint is permanent, so dry fit the run first and mark it. As a guide, 32mm is the usual size for basins, 40mm for baths, showers and kitchen sinks, and 50mm for longer or shared runs. FloPlast say continuous discharge should not be hotter than about 70 to 75°C.

Common Questions

How do you fit FloPlast waste pipe?

Cut the pipe square and deburr it, then apply FloPlast solvent cement to the pipe end and the fitting socket. Push them together, give a slight twist if you like, and hold for a few seconds.

Can you remove a FloPlast solvent weld fitting?

No, once set the joint is permanent. Cut the pipe either side and put a new piece in with couplings.

What sizes does FloPlast waste come in?

The ABS solvent weld range is 32mm, 40mm and 50mm. We list these couplings in all three sizes.

Is FloPlast waste pipe fine for hot water?

Yes for normal waste from baths, sinks and appliances. FloPlast advise that continuous discharge stays below about 70 to 75°C, with anything hotter limited to short bursts.
