FloPlast Overflow Straight Tank – OS14 21.5mm

Where an overflow can run straight out, the FloPlast Overflow Straight Tank OS14 connector gives a cistern or storage tank a straight 21.5mm overflow outlet. The threaded end goes through the tank wall and the overflow pipe solvent welds on outside.

Fitting the FloPlast Overflow Straight Tank OS14

The threaded end goes through a hole in the tank and is clamped with a backnut. Because it comes straight out, it is the one to use when the overflow can run directly away from the tank before turning. If the pipe has to drop at once, the bent version saves a separate bend.

Choose the height carefully: above the normal water level, but low enough that an overfill reaches it well before the top of the tank. A hole saw gives the clean round hole the washer needs to seal.

Do the backnut up hand tight and a touch more, cement the pipe on, and give it a fall right through to the outside.

What thread does the OS14 have?

FloPlast give it a 3/4″ BSP thread. Cut a clean round hole to suit, as a hole saw leaves the edge the washer needs.

Straight or bent tank connector: which one?

Use the straight OS14 where the overflow can run away from the tank before turning. Where it has to drop at once, the bent OS15 saves a separate bend.

How tight should the backnut go?

Hand tight and a touch more. Plastic tanks crack or bow if you lean on the nut.
