Fitting the FloPlast Ring Seal Pipe Clip SP82

Ring Seal joints allow movement, so the clips are what keep the stack upright and in line. Put one close to each socket, so the joints sit where they should, and space the rest evenly up the stack.

Use fixings to suit the wall. On old sandstone, drill into solid stone rather than mortar joints, and choose plugs that grip well.

Check the stack with a level as you go. A stack that leans out of true looks bad and puts strain on the joints.

Fit clips before the stack is loaded with branches, so the weight is supported as you build. On a tall outside stack, a clip near the top stops the vent end swaying in the wind. Paint or render work round the clips is easier before the pipe goes up.
