The 110mm Underground Socket Plug is a push-in blanking plug for a spare 110mm ring seal socket on underground drainage, for capping a branch now or leaving a connection for later. FloPlast code D296. Collect from our Glasgow shop at 555 South Street G14 0QX.
A 110mm Underground Socket Plug blanks off a spare 110mm ring seal socket on a below-ground drain, for plumbers and groundworkers capping a junction branch, closing a redundant connection or sealing a run end during testing.
It pushes into the socket of the fitting, and the seal in that fitting does the sealing. That means you can leave a branch on a junction ready for a future toilet or extension, then pull the plug out later and connect into it. The D296 code on our listing matches the FloPlast socket plug, which is terracotta to suit their underground range.
It’s for gravity drainage, not pressure pipework. Wipe the socket clean and give the seal a smear of silicone lubricant before pushing the plug in square. Never cap a vent or a stack that’s meant to breathe, as the system needs air to stop traps being sucked dry.
If the plug ends up buried, note its position on a sketch so the next person knows where the spare connection is. Pipe, bends and junctions to go with the 110mm Underground Socket Plug are in our soil and underground pipe and fittings category.

Common Questions
Can the socket plug be taken out later? Yes, it pushes in, so it can be pulled out when you want to connect a new branch. Fit new pipe the usual way once it’s out.
Will it hold during a drain test? It seals on the fitting’s own ring seal, so it’s used to blank ends during testing. Push it fully home and check it hasn’t moved before you fill the run.
What lubricant should I use on underground seals? A silicone pipe lubricant made for drainage seals. Washing up liquid can dry out and damage the seal, so leave it in the kitchen.
Do I need access for rodding? Yes, plan an inspection chamber or access fitting near bends and junctions so the run can be cleared. Building standards want drains to be rodable along their whole length.
