The Gas Yellow Lever Ball Valve is a quarter turn isolating valve for gas pipework. The yellow lever is the recognised colour for gas, so anyone looking knows what it controls.
Where a Gas Yellow Lever Ball Valve is used
Lever ball valves are used to isolate sections of gas pipe, for example a kitchen in a restaurant, a plant room, or a branch to an outbuilding. A quick quarter turn shuts it in an emergency. The 15mm and 22mm sizes suit domestic and light commercial runs, while 28mm to 54mm suit larger installations.

The lever should point along the pipe when open and across when shut. Fit it where it can be reached easily in an emergency, and label it if it controls a whole area. Yellow is the recognised colour for gas, so anyone can tell at a glance what the valve controls. That matters most in an emergency, when someone needs the right valve fast.
Can I fit a gas lever valve myself?
No. Fitting or moving any valve on a gas supply is legally a job for a Gas Safe registered engineer. The engineer also tests the installation afterwards.
Where are the larger sizes used?
The 35mm, 42mm and 54mm valves suit commercial kitchens, boiler houses and plant rooms with big gas loads. Homes usually need 15mm or 22mm, set by the engineer to suit the appliances.
