The Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Coupling joins two lengths of Mapress stainless pipe in a straight line. The Geberit Mapress 22mm coupling is one of the most used sizes on commercial water and heating jobs. Each end is a press socket with a black seal ring already inside. Cut the pipe square, deburr it, mark the insertion depth, push it in to the mark and press with the right tool and jaw. Geberit design the fitting so an unpressed joint leaks under test, and there is a pressing indicator, so a missed joint shows up before handover. Couplings are what you buy most of, as every long run needs joining and every repair needs a pair.

Mapress uses an M contour, so you need jaws made for that profile in the right size. Check your press tool maker’s list before you start.

What happens if I miss pressing a joint?

Geberit make the fitting so it leaks when it has not been pressed, and there is a pressing indicator on it. Pressure test before anything is boxed in and a missed joint will show.

Can this coupling be used on gas?

No, this is the water version. Geberit make a separate Mapress 316 Stainless Steel gas range for gas work.
