The Mapress Stainless Gas 45 Degree Elbow is a socket-by-socket 45° bend for 316 stainless steel gas pipework, in sizes from 15mm to 108mm, for Gas Safe registered engineers. Both ends take Mapress stainless system pipe and are pressed in the usual way.
Geberit’s datasheet gives the material as CrNiMo 316 stainless steel 1.4401 to EN 10088. The seal ring is yellow HNBR, the fitting is marked yellow and each socket has a yellow protection plug. It is suitable for natural gas, liquefied gas and biogas, and it is silicone-free. A joint left unpressed will leak on test.
Two 45s with a short length of pipe between them make a neater, lower-resistance offset than a pair of 90s, and are easier to get round obstructions in risers. Keep the plugs in until you fit, mark the insertion depth, check the seal and press with the correct jaw. We carry 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm, 54mm, 76.1mm, 88.9mm and 108mm.

How do I tell gas Mapress from water Mapress? Gas fittings are marked yellow with a yellow HNBR seal and yellow plugs. The water range has black seals and clear plugs, and must not be used on gas.
Who can install Mapress gas fittings? Any work on a gas installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, including the tightness test.
