Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel Pipe 3m 15mm to 108mm

Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel Pipe 3m is the shorter length of Geberit’s 1.4401 stainless system tube, sold in nine sizes from 15mm to 108mm for engineers working where 6m lengths are awkward. Three metres is far easier up a stairwell or through a ceiling void, and keeps big bores manageable for one fitter.

It is silicone-free, with blue plugs fitted to keep dirt and swarf out until you make the joint. Walls are 1mm on 15mm, 1.2mm on 22mm and 28mm, 1.5mm on 35mm to 54mm, and 2mm on 76.1mm, 88.9mm and 108mm.

Cut square with a stainless pipe cutter, deburr so the seal is not nicked, mark the depth and press with the correct jaws or collars. Expansion is 0.0165mm per metre per degree, so plan anchors on hot runs. Fittings and 6m lengths are in our Mapress stainless steel pipe and tube range.

Common Questions

Why buy 3m lengths? They are easier to carry and handle in tight buildings, and on 76.1mm to 108mm they keep each length a sensible weight. Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel Pipe 3m is the same tube as the 6m.

What tooling do the big sizes need? 76.1mm, 88.9mm and 108mm are pressed with collars rather than jaws. Check your Geberit tool and collars cover the size.

Is Mapress stainless suitable for drinking water? Yes, Geberit list it for hot and cold drinking water at up to 16 bar. It is also used on heating, cooling, compressed air and sprinkler systems.

How do I know every joint is pressed? Each socket has a pressing indicator that is removed once pressed, and unpressed joints are made to leak. Fill and test before the job is closed in.
