Honeywell pressure reducing valve for 22mm pipe, with gauge, adjustable outlet 1.5 to 6 bar. Collect from 555 South Street, Glasgow.

SKU D04FM-3/4ZGC
Description

This is a Honeywell pressure reducing valve with a gauge, for a 22mm supply. It brings high mains pressure down to a steady level you set, adjustable from 1.5 to 6 bar. The pressure reducing valve 22mm size suits a typical house main, and plumbers fit them ahead of unvented cylinders, combis and showers that need a set pressure.

It is spring loaded with a balanced seat, so the outlet pressure stays steady even when the incoming pressure goes up and down. The gauge comes fitted, so you can watch the pressure as you turn the adjuster without bringing your own test gauge. Fit it after the stopcock with the flow arrow pointing the right way, and flush the pipe first so grit does not sit on the seat. It is compact enough for under a sink or in a cupboard.

We keep it in stock. Collect from our Glasgow shop or order online.

Common Questions

What is a pressure reducing valve?

It is a valve that lowers incoming water pressure to a set level and holds it there. It protects cylinders, taps and appliances from high or changing mains pressure.

What is the difference between a pressure reducing valve and a relief valve?

A reducing valve sits in the supply and keeps the pressure down all the time. A relief valve stays shut and only opens to let water out if the pressure goes above its setting.

How do I adjust a pressure reducing valve?

Turn the adjuster a little at a time and watch the gauge. Run a tap to check the pressure holds, then shut it and make sure the reading does not creep up.

Why does a pressure reducing valve stop working?

Grit on the seat is a common cause, and it lets the pressure creep past. Flush the pipe before fitting, and if it starts to creep, the seat may need cleaning or the valve replacing.
