JG Speedfit 2 Way Coupler 15mm

The JG Speedfit 2 Way Coupler is a straight Push Fit connector with two equal 15mm ends. It joins two lengths of pipe end to end, so it is the fitting for extending a run or closing a gap after a repair.

Fitting the JG Speedfit 2 Way Coupler

Cut the pipe square and clean, with no burrs or scores where the seal will sit. On plastic pipe, put an insert in the end first. Copper does not need one. Push the pipe into the coupler until you feel it pass the grab ring and reach the stop, then tug it to be sure it is held.

To take it apart later, push the collet in against the body and draw the pipe out. That makes it handy for temporary connections and alterations as well as permanent work. Because there is no heat, it is a safe choice near timber, cables and plastic baths.

Common Questions

Does this coupler need a pipe insert?

Only on plastic pipe. Speedfit say an insert goes into every plastic pipe end, while copper pushes straight in once it is cut clean and deburred.

How do I know the pipe is fully in?

JG publish a stop depth for each size. Mark that depth on the pipe and check after jointing that the mark sits right at the collet.

Can I solder copper near a Speedfit joint?

Keep the flame well away. JG set a minimum of 18 inches between a solder joint and the Speedfit fitting, and no flux may touch the plastic.
