JG Speedfit Equal Tee 10mm to 28mm

The JG Speedfit Equal Tee is a push-fit tee with all three ends the same size, for taking a branch off a run. We list it in 10mm, 15mm, 22mm and 28mm on both our sites. The Speedfit 22mm equal tee is the one most used on heating flow and return and on main hot and cold runs, while 15mm suits branches to taps and radiators. It is for plumbers, heating engineers and DIYers working in plastic or copper pipe.

Speedfit fittings take JG Speedfit barrier pipe and copper tube. Cut the pipe square and take off any burr, and on plastic pipe push a Speedfit pipe insert into the end first. Push the pipe firmly into the fitting until it reaches the stop, then pull back to check it holds. Copper doesn’t need an insert. John Guest list these fittings for hot and cold water, including mains and unvented cylinders, and for central heating. They are not for gas, fuel oil or compressed air.

What is Speedfit?

It is John Guest’s push-fit plumbing system of plastic pipe and fittings. The fittings grip and seal the pipe as you push it in, so no heat or spanners are needed.

How do you fit Speedfit fittings?

Cut the pipe square, deburr it, and fit an insert if it is plastic pipe. Push it firmly into the fitting to the stop and pull back to check it has locked.

Do I need an insert with Speedfit fittings?

Yes on plastic pipe, every time, pushed fully into the pipe end. Copper pipe doesn’t need one.

Can I take a 15mm branch off a 22mm run?

Yes. Use a Speedfit reducing tee, or put a 22mm equal tee in the run and a 22mm to 15mm reducer in the branch.
