When JG Speedfit PEX Barrier 22mm pipe coil has to go into a screed or through a wall, this black conduit is the sleeve it runs in. The conduit protects the pipe and keeps it free, so it can be pulled out and replaced later without breaking up the floor.
The Water Regulations expect plastic pipe buried in concrete or masonry to be removable. A bare pipe set straight into screed gets gripped tight, so you could never draw it back out. Run it inside conduit, though, and the pipe sits loose in its own channel. It also stops sharp aggregate and trowels from scoring the pipe wall while the floor goes down.
- Black conduit pipe in coil form
- Sizes: 15mm and 22mm, to suit the pipe that goes inside
- Coil lengths: 25m and 50m
- For sleeving Speedfit PEX or polybutylene pipe through screed and walls
Using conduit with JG Speedfit PEX Barrier 22mm pipe coil
Pick the conduit size that matches the pipe, so 22mm conduit for 22mm pipe and 15mm for 15mm. Thread the pipe through before you make any joints, because it is far easier on the floor than in a trench. Keep joints out of the buried section where you can. Leave the conduit ends long enough to clear the floor or wall face, then tape them so no screed gets inside. The matching barrier pipe, fittings and inserts are in our John Guest Speedfit pipe section.

Common Questions
Why does plastic pipe in a screed need conduit?
The Water Regulations expect buried pipe to be removable. Inside conduit the pipe stays loose, so it can be drawn out and replaced without breaking up the floor.
Which conduit size goes with 22mm pipe?
Use the 22mm conduit for 22mm pipe and the 15mm conduit for 15mm pipe. The size refers to the pipe that runs inside.
Should joints be inside the conduit?
No, keep joints out of the buried section. Bring the pipe up to an accessible point before you make any connection.
