JG Speedfit Stem 90 Deg Elbow 10mm to 22mm

The JG Speedfit Stem 90 Deg Elbow has a push-fit socket on one end and a plain stem on the other. If you need a Speedfit 15mm stem elbow, the 15mm x 15mm is the one. We also list 10mm x 10mm, 10mm x 15mm and 22mm x 22mm. It suits plumbers and heating engineers working in tight spots, such as round a valve or next to a manifold.

The socket end takes JG Speedfit barrier pipe or copper pipe. The stem end pushes straight into another push-fit fitting, so you can turn a corner hard up against a tee, coupler or valve without cutting a short piece of pipe. Plastic pipe needs a pipe insert in the end before it goes into the socket. Copper does not. Cut square, push in until it hits the stop, then pull back to check it has gripped. The joint can be taken apart later if the layout changes.

Common Questions

How does a stem elbow work?

The stem is a plain length of pipe moulded onto the elbow. It pushes into the socket of another push-fit fitting just like a piece of pipe would. That lets you make a tight turn with no extra pipe.

How do I fit a Speedfit elbow?

Cut the pipe square and clean, fit an insert if it is plastic pipe, then mark the insertion depth. Push the pipe in past the O-ring until it reaches the stop. Pull on it to check the collet has gripped.

Do I need an insert?

Yes for JG Speedfit plastic barrier pipe, as the insert keeps the pipe round so it seals. Copper pipe does not need one. The stem itself never needs an insert.

Can I take a Speedfit elbow off again?

Yes. Push the collet in square against the fitting and pull the pipe out. Check the pipe end for scores, and cut a little off if it is marked before refitting.
