JG Speedfit MDPE Female Adaptor 20mm to 25mm

To join blue MDPE pipe to a male threaded fitting, use the JG Speedfit MDPE female adaptor. The pipe end is Push-Fit, and the other end is a female thread that screws on.

Screw the adaptor onto the male thread first, with PTFE tape on that thread, and do not overtighten. Then push in the pipe with an insert fitted. Push until it stops, then pull back to check the grip. Keep the threaded joint where it can be reached, because threads are the joints most likely to need attention later.

Common Questions

Which female adaptor suits a 1/2 inch outside tap fitting?

The 20mm x 1/2″ size takes 20mm MDPE onto a 1/2″ male thread. For a 3/4″ male thread on a 25mm supply, use the 25mm x 3/4″.

Do I tape the thread on a female adaptor?

Wrap PTFE tape on the male thread it screws onto, not inside the adaptor. Tighten by hand plus a little, because plastic threads do not need force.

Should threaded joints be buried?

It is better to keep threaded joints where they can be reached, such as inside a stopcock chamber or a building. Push Fit joints are the ones made for the ground.
