A Polyplumb Gate Valve isolates a pipe by lowering a gate across the bore as you turn the head. With Push Fit sockets on both ends, it drops straight into a plastic or copper run.
Uses for a Polyplumb Gate Valve
Gate valves let water flow through almost unrestricted when open. That is why they are the usual choice on low pressure pipework, such as the feeds coming down from a cold water storage tank to a cylinder or a bath. Fit one on each outlet from the tank, so each feed can be shut off on its own.

What is a gate valve used for?

A gate left hard against its stop can stick. Backing it off slightly keeps it free to turn next time it is needed.
