The Polyplumb Straight Service Valve is a straight tap connector with a small isolating valve built in. Pipe of 15mm goes into the Push Fit socket, while a 1/2″ nut threads onto the tap tail.
Why fit a Polyplumb Straight Service Valve
When a tap starts dripping, you want to shut off just that tap and get on with it. With this fitting, the valve is right there on the tail. You turn it off, change the washer or cartridge, then turn it back on. It also saves space compared with fitting a separate valve and connector.

Use the straight version where the pipe comes up directly below the tap. If the pipe arrives from the side, the bent version is tidier. What is a straight service valve?
It is a straight tap connector with a small isolating valve built in, so one fitting both connects and isolates the tap.
When should I use the straight version rather than the bent one?
When the supply rises straight up under the tap tail. For a pipe arriving sideways, the bent pattern gives a tidier job.
How do I use it to change a tap cartridge?
Turn the valve off with a screwdriver, open the tap to check the water has stopped, then change the cartridge. Turn the valve back on slowly afterwards.
