Most plumbers know the Speedfit Flexible Hose Push Fit x Nut as the everyday tap connector. Push one end onto the pipe, screw the nut onto the tap tail or valve, and the job is done.
Speedfit flexible hose Push Fit x nut sizes
- 10mm x 1/2 inch, 300mm
- 15mm x 1/2 inch: 150mm, 300mm, 500mm or 1000mm
- 15mm x 3/4 inch: 300mm, 500mm or 1000mm
- 15mm x 3/8 inch, 300mm
- 22mm x 3/4 inch: 300mm, 500mm or 1000mm
The 1/2 inch nut fits most basin and sink taps. The 3/4 inch nut suits bath taps and many valves. The 10mm option helps on microbore supplies, and 22mm keeps the flow up to a bath. Lengths go from a short 150mm for a tight spot to 1000mm for a long reach.
These connectors are for hot and cold water to taps and appliances. They are not for central heating.
Cut the pipe square and deburr it, then mark the insertion depth. Push the hose on until it reaches the mark. Use an insert with plastic pipe. Run the nut onto the tap by hand, check the washer, then nip it up with a spanner. Keep the hose free of twists and turn the water on to check.

Push Fit x nut flexi: which size for a basin tap?
A 15mm x 1/2″ covers nearly every basin or sink tap. Choose the length that meets your pipe without pulling.
Can I use one for a toilet cistern feed?
Yes, if the cistern valve has a matching threaded tail, usually 1/2″. For a side entry inlet, an elbow pattern hose is neater.
Do these flexis need to be accessible?
Yes, it is good practice to keep them where they can be seen and reached, with an isolating valve, so they can be checked and changed.
