For the slightest change of direction, the 110mm Underground 15 Degree Bend Single Socket nudges a drain off its line by just 15 degrees. One end is a Push Fit Ring Seal socket and the other is a spigot that goes straight into the next socket along.
When you’d reach for a 15
Trenches are never perfectly straight. When a run has to drift round a tree root, an old foundation or the edge of a driveway, a 15 degree bend takes up the angle without the hard turn of a 30 or 45. It is also the one to use when lining a new drain up with an existing connection that is just slightly off.
Gentle bends like this are kind to rodding and keep the flow running cleanly, which is why plenty of drainlayers would rather use two 15s than one 30 where space allows.
Sizes and fitting
It comes in 110mm, the usual size for house drains. Fitting is the same as any other Push-Fit underground part:
- Chamfer any cut pipe and clean off the swarf.
- Apply lubricant to the spigot and the seal.
- Push home, then draw back slightly to leave an expansion gap.
- Pack gravel round it so the angle holds when the trench is backfilled.
If you need more than 15 degrees, the 30, 45 and 87.5 options are all in our underground drainage bends.

Common Questions
Can you put a bend in an underground drain? Yes, and a gentle 15 degree bend like this one is about the easiest kind to live with on a buried run. Keep turns soft where you can, make sure rods will still get through, and add an access point near any awkward change of direction.
Can I use this underground bend above ground? We wouldn’t. It’s made for buried foul and surface water drains, so for pipework on the outside of a building use a soil or rainwater system designed for that.
How do I connect this bend to underground pipe? Cut the pipe square and put a chamfer on the end, then lubricate the spigot and the seal. Push it fully home, draw it back a touch, and pack gravel round it so it holds its angle.
Do I need to glue underground drainage joints? Not with this bend. It has a push fit ring seal socket, so the rubber seal and a bit of pipe lubricant do the job with no solvent at all.
What size pipe does this bend take? It’s a 110mm fitting, so it joins 110mm underground drainage pipe, the usual size for a house foul drain.
How should I lay the pipe and bend in the trench? Bed them on an even layer of pea gravel or similar, keeping a steady fall, and pack the same stuff up the sides. Keep stones and rubble off the pipe or it can crack once you backfill.
When would I pick a 15 degree bend over a sharper one? When the drain only needs to drift a little, say round a tree root or to line up with an existing connection that’s slightly off. Where there’s space, two 15s with a short pipe between often rod more easily than a single tighter bend.
