FloPlast Underground Single Socket Coupler 110mm

A 110mm Underground Single Socket Coupler gives a plain pipe end a socket of its own. One end is a Ring Seal socket that takes the spigot of the next pipe or fitting, and the other end fixes onto the plain pipe.

What it’s used for

Say you’ve cut a socketed length and now have a plain piece left. Fit one of these and that offcut has a socket again, ready to take a spigot fitting such as a single socket bend. It also gets you out of trouble when two spigots need to meet and you don’t want a double socket coupler in the run.

Many single socket couplers pair a Ring Seal socket with a Solvent Weld socket at the far end, which you glue permanently onto the plain pipe. Check how the far end fixes when you collect it, as that decides how you fit it.

Fitting tips

• Cut the plain pipe square and chamfer it.
• If it is the Solvent Weld type, clean both surfaces and use the correct solvent cement. Let it cure before you push the next joint on.
• For the Ring Seal end, lubricate the spigot and push home, then pull back slightly.
• Bed and surround in gravel as for the rest of the drain.
