Viva Close Coupling Kit, Flat Plate, 2″

This 2″ flat plate kit joins a toilet cistern to its bowl. In the box: a recessed plate, two bolts with wing nuts and washers, and a dome doughnut washer.

Common Questions

What is a close coupling kit? It’s what holds a cistern straight onto the back of the pan. In the box you get the flat plate, a pair of bolts with wing nuts and washers, and the doughnut washer that seals the flush.

Do I need a close coupling kit? If your cistern sits directly on the pan and the old seal or bolts are leaking or worn, a new kit is the fix. Make sure it matches the size of your flush valve.

How do I fit a close coupling kit? Fit the doughnut washer over the flush valve outlet, sit the cistern on the pan, then fix the bolts with their washers and wing nuts. Tighten evenly, a little at a time, so the cistern sits level and nothing cracks.

What size is this kit? It’s the 2 inch version, for cisterns with a 2 inch flush valve.

Does the kit include the doughnut washer? Yes, the domed doughnut seal comes in the kit, so there’s nothing else to buy for the joint itself.

Do I need to shut the water off before fitting it? Yes, turn off the cistern’s isolating valve and flush to empty it before you lift the cistern off.
