Fitted to the top of a vented hot water cylinder, the York Cylinder Flange Female gives a pumped shower its own supply, drawn from inside the cylinder. It is sold in 22mm x 1″: 22mm pipe connections and a 1″ female thread.
Why a York cylinder flange helps shower pumps
Air is the enemy of a shower pump. If the pump draws from the same pipe as the vent, bubbles get pulled in, and the result is a noisy pump, a pulsing shower and sometimes a pump that switches itself off. A York flange takes water from below the top of the cylinder, away from the air in the vent pipe, so the pump has a steady supply.

Confirm the thread on top of the cylinder before buying, and read the pump instructions for which flanges they allow. Isolate the cold feed and drain the cylinder down enough to work on the top. Seal the thread to suit, then reconnect the vent and hot supply to the correct outlets and run the shower feed from the flange. Refill slowly, bleed the air, and check for leaks with the water hot.
