Where copper tube has to meet a male threaded tail and you want to be able to split it later, the Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Female Union Adaptor is the fitting. One end presses onto the copper, the other is a female BSP thread, with a union in between.
What it’s used for
It suits pumps with male threaded unions, valve bodies, cylinder connections and any threaded kit you may want to remove for servicing. The union lets you undo the joint with a spanner instead of cutting out the pipe.
Xpress copper is for hot and cold water, vented and unvented heating and chilled water. Use the yellow Xpress Gas fittings for gas work.

Fitting tips
Do the threaded end first and seal it properly, then press the copper so you aren’t putting twist into the press joint. Check the copper is cut square and deburred, and mark how far it goes in.

Common Questions
Why fit a union adaptor on a pump?
The union lets you undo the joint with a spanner and lift the pump out, without cutting copper. Fit one either side with isolating valves.
Which sizes take a 1 inch male tail?
The 22mm x 1″ and 28mm x 1″. The 28mm x 3/4″ is there for smaller tails on a 28mm pipe.
Do I press before or after tightening the union?
Make the threaded joint first, then press the copper, then close the union. That keeps twisting off the pressed seal.
