Copper Pipe Coil 6mm x 25m, pencil-thin soft annealed copper for small microbore radiators, towel rails, gauge lines and low flow feeds. Tube to BS EN 1057 with a 0.6mm wall, taking 6mm compression or push-fit fittings. Collect from our Glasgow shop at 555 South Street G14 0QX.

Description

A Copper Pipe Coil 6mm x 25m is about as thin as domestic copper gets: soft annealed tube, roughly pencil width, in one 25 metre coil, for heating engineers maintaining older microbore systems and anyone running small, low flow feeds that need to stay out of sight.

Some older microbore systems used 6mm for the smallest radiators and towel rails. It is also handy for pressure gauge lines and small water feeds to appliances, where a bigger pipe would be overkill. It is tube to BS EN 1057 with a 0.6mm wall, joined with 6mm compression or 6mm push-fit fittings.

Flow is limited, so check the heat load before reusing 6mm on a replacement radiator. Roll it off the coil, as pulling the end kinks thin tube in seconds. Cut with a mini tube cutter and deburr carefully so the bore is not reduced further, then bend gently by hand or with a small spring. If you only need a few metres, the 10m coil saves waste. The 8mm and 10mm sizes are in our copper pipe coils section, next to the Copper Pipe Coil 6mm x 25m.

Common Questions

What is 6mm copper pipe used for? Small radiators and towel rails on some older microbore systems, plus gauge lines and small low flow feeds. It carries too little water for most new radiators.

Can I replace 6mm with 8mm? Usually yes, with reducers at each end, and it will carry more heat. Check the radiator valves and fittings for the size change.

How do I cut 6mm copper without crushing it? Use a mini tube cutter with light pressure and several turns. Deburr the inside afterwards, as a burr chokes such a small bore.
