This 1 metre piece of Climaflex pipe insulation 28mm x 19mm is for a short run of 28mm pipe that needs a thick 19mm wall. That is handy where only part of a run is exposed to the cold.

For example, the stretch of main that runs along an outside wall before going into a heated room, or a pipe passing an air vent in a plant room. Lag that part heavily and the rest can take a lighter wall. A metre is also easier to fit in a tight corner.

Cut along one side to fit it over existing pipe, then close the seam with tape or glue. Butt it hard against neighbouring lagging and tape across the join. Where it meets a thinner size, wrap tape across the step, so nothing is left bare. Check the seam is closed all the way along before you move on.

Yes. Use the thick wall on the cold section and thinner where it is warm, and tape across the step.
