When to choose Climaflex pipe insulation 28mm x 19mm

Use it on 28mm mains that cross unheated roof voids, run through garages or pass through plant areas that are not kept warm. The thicker wall cuts heat loss on heating pipes and helps cold mains resist frost and condensation. Because the cells are closed, the foam does not take on water.

The outside size is roughly two and a half inches, so check clips and sleeves will take it. Slide it on during first fix if you can, because it is quicker than slitting later. Tape all butt joints and slits, and lag any short pipe stubs too, as those freeze first. Where the pipe goes through a wall, carry the lagging right through the sleeve. A gap at the wall is a common weak point in a cold snap.
