Like the male coupler, the Compression DZR Male Elbow screws into a female threaded port and turns the pipe through 90 degrees, with a Compression end for the copper. It is made from DZR brass, so it resists the dezincification that can weaken standard brass fittings.
Where you would use it
Anywhere you have a female thread and the copper has to leave at a right angle: tank and cylinder bosses, female valve bodies, manifolds, radiator and appliance connections. It is a common way of getting off a cylinder tapping and straight down the wall in one neat fitting.

Fitting tips for Glasgow cylinders and tanks
Wrap the male thread with PTFE, going round in the direction you will screw it in, or use a jointing paste rated for the job. Screw it in hand tight, then take it round with a spanner until it is firm and facing the right way. Never back off to line it up. With the elbow set, make the Compression joint onto the tube. On cylinders, support the boss so you are not twisting the vessel.

Common Questions
Will a DZR male elbow go into a cylinder tapping?
Yes, if the tapping is a female thread of the same size, which is common on cylinders. Check the thread size before buying.
How tight should the male thread be?
Tight enough not to move, with the outlet pointing where you need it. Overtightening a tapered or sealed thread can split a weak socket, so let the sealant do its job.
Can I reuse the elbow if I move the pipe later?
The fitting itself can be reused. Expect to fit a new olive on the pipe and fresh sealant on the thread.
