Where two fittings need to sit tight together with a slight offset, the End Feed 45 Degree Street Elbow saves a short length of pipe. One end is a normal capillary socket for the pipe. The other end is a spigot, the same outside size as the pipe, which pushes into the socket of the next fitting.
Fitting an End Feed 45 Degree Street Elbow
End Feed fittings have no solder inside, so you feed solder wire into the joint as you heat it. Clean and flux both the spigot and the socket it goes into. Heat the fitting, then touch the solder to the mouth of each joint until it runs right round.
The 45 degree angle is good for gentle offsets, for example dodging a joist, a valve or another pipe. Small sizes suit house heating and water, and 54mm up to 108mm suit plant rooms and commercial runs.

What is a street elbow?
It is an elbow where one end is a socket and the other is a pipe sized spigot. That spigot plugs directly into the neighbouring fitting, so no short offcut of pipe is needed.
45 degree street elbow: what solder should I use?
On drinking water pipework use solder that contains no lead, as the water regulations require. Heating pipework is often done with the same solder to keep things simple.
Can I solder both joints in one go?
Yes, if you can get heat to both and feed solder to each mouth. Otherwise do one, let it set, and wrap it in a damp cloth while you do the next.
