An End Feed bent tap connector joins copper pipe to a tap tail or threaded valve with a 90 degree bend. Sizes run from 15mm x 1/2″ up to 54mm x 2″, soldered on the copper side. Sold at Plumb Parts, Glasgow.

An End Feed bent tap connector turns a copper pipe through 90 degrees and finishes in a swivel nut that screws onto a tap tail or male thread. The copper end is a plain socket, so you solder it with separate solder wire and flux.
Sizes of End Feed bent tap connector
- 15mm x 1/2″ for basin and sink tap tails
- 15mm x 3/4″ and 22mm x 3/4″ for bath taps and float valves
- 22mm x 1″ and 28mm x 1″
- 35mm x 1 1/4″, 42mm x 1 1/2″ and 54mm x 2″ for larger commercial work
The small sizes cover most house work. For example, 15mm x 1/2″ goes onto basin taps, while the 3/4″ versions suit bath taps and float valves in a cold water tank. The bigger connectors turn up on tank outlets, plant rooms and commercial feeds where the pipe is 35mm and above. The bend saves space where the pipe comes up through a floor or out of a wall close to the tap.
Solder the copper side before you tighten the nut, if you can, so heat does not cook the washer. Clean and flux the pipe end, heat the fitting evenly and feed solder until a ring shows at the mouth. Once it has cooled, fit a suitable washer in the nut and tighten it onto the thread without forcing it. A connector that is cross threaded will always weep. Solder first, with the nut and washer off or well away from the heat. Then fit the washer and do up the nut once cool.
Which one fits a cold water tank float valve?
Float valves in tanks often have 1/2″ or 3/4″ tails. Check yours and match the connector to it.
Can I use a bent tap connector on a bath tap?
Yes, bath taps usually take the 3/4″ sizes, on 15mm or 22mm pipe depending on the supply.
