FloPlast Overflow 90 Deg Bend -OS11 21.5mm

For a square turn on an overflow run, use the FloPlast Overflow 90 Deg Bend -OS11. It is a 21.5mm Solvent Weld bend in FloPlast’s overflow system, offered in white or black to match the pipe.

Where the FloPlast Overflow 90 Deg Bend -OS11 goes

Overflows rarely run in a straight line. You will use these to turn down out of a loft and through a soffit, round a corner outside, or to come off a tank connector and drop. They are also common on boiler condensate runs, turning from the wall down towards a gully or drain.

Dry fit the run first, especially where a bend passes through a wall, because it is easy to end up a few degrees out once the cement is on. Coat both surfaces with solvent cement and push fully home.

Clip within reach of each bend so the joint is not carrying the pipe. Make sure the run keeps falling after the bend with no back fall, or water will sit and, outside, can freeze in winter.

Common Questions

Can overflow pipe be left unpainted outside?

Yes. It is PVC-U, and FloPlast say PVC-U pipe can go outside with no painting needed.

How often should overflow pipe be clipped?

FloPlast’s tech sheet asks for a bracket at least every half metre, on vertical and horizontal runs alike. Small bore pipe sags quickly between fixings.

Is there a 45 degree version of the OS11?

Yes. FloPlast’s OS12 gives a 45 degree turn (they call it 135 degrees) in the same overflow range.
