Using the FloPlast Overflow Reducer OS18

The usual job is a boiler condensate pipe that needs to discharge into a 40mm waste. Fit the reducer into a spare 40mm socket, a tee on the sink waste for example, and Solvent Weld the 21.5mm pipe into it.

Where the reducer goes into the waste, joint it to suit that system: cement for solvent, lubricant for Push-Fit. Then cement the 21.5mm pipe into the reducer.

Run the small pipe with a good fall and no dips. If it is condensate, check the boiler maker’s guidance on connecting into a waste, since some require a trap or a particular arrangement. Keep the reducer accessible if you can, so the joint can be checked during a boiler service.
