It goes into a straight length of soil pipe, usually just above floor level or near the base of the stack where blockages are most likely. Access points also make testing the stack easier.

Face the door where it can be reached once the room is finished. If the stack is boxed in, build in a removable panel opposite the door.

Cement plain pipe into each socket, holding each joint as it grabs. Check the door seal is seated and the fixings tightened evenly.

Show the household where the access is. Before testing, wipe the door seal clean and check nothing has been trapped under it during fitting.

Common Questions

Where should the access pipe go in the stack? Usually near the foot of the stack, where blockages tend to happen, or wherever a long stack needs a rodding point. Put it somewhere you can still get to once the boxing is on.

Can I turn the access door after gluing? No, once it’s cemented it’s fixed. Decide which way the door faces before you glue, ideally towards an access panel or the open side of the boxing.

What solvent cement should I use? FloPlast’s SC125 or SC250. Keep the cement away from the door seal while you work.

Is there anything to check before testing the stack? Make sure the access cover is screwed down properly before you do an air or water test, or it’ll be the first place to leak.

Can it take hot waste water? It’s rated for continuous discharge up to about 70°C to 75°C, which covers normal household waste.

What is the SS275 made from? It’s PVC-U from FloPlast’s 110mm Solvent Soil range, Kitemarked to BS EN 1329-1. It comes in black and olive grey.

What if my stack is push-fit rather than glued? This one is for solvent weld stacks only. For a ring seal stack, choose a FloPlast ring seal access pipe instead.
