Fixing a stack with the FloPlast Solvent Soil Pipe Clip SS82

A clip close to each socket keeps the joints where they belong, and further clips spaced evenly carry the weight between. On an outside stack, good clipping also stops wind working the pipe loose.

Mark the clip positions with the pipe held plumb. Drill into sound brick or stone, not crumbling mortar, and use plugs that suit the wall.

Fit the clips as you build the stack, so each section is supported before the next one goes on.

Match the clip colour to the pipe for a tidy finish on the outside of the house. Near the top of a tall stack, an extra clip stops the vent end moving in high winds. Check every clip is tight once the stack is complete.

How far apart should soil pipe clips be? FloPlast’s advice for 110mm soil is no more than 1.8m between clips on a vertical stack and 1.0m on a horizontal run, with an anchor at each socket. Add one near bends and branches too.
