Where the FloPlast Universal Compression Chrome Style Coupling CW08 fits

Forty mil is the size for sinks, baths and showers. On a wet room wall or under a wall-hung sink, the waste is part of the look. This coupling joins two lengths without breaking up a chrome run with a white fitting.

Cut the pipe ends square and remove any burr. Fit the nut, then the seal, push the pipe fully in and tighten by hand. Finish with a small turn using a cloth to protect the chrome.

Compression joints can be taken apart, which is handy if a trap needs clearing or the sink is replaced.

Keep the run level with a slight fall, and clip both sides of the coupling with matching chrome clips for a tidy finish.

Common Questions

Is 40mm the right size for a kitchen sink?

Yes. Kitchen sinks, baths and showers normally run in 40mm waste, while basins use 32mm. If the old pipe measures about 40mm across the outside, this CW08 is the one.

Do I need solvent cement with the CW08?

No. The nut squeezes a seal onto the pipe, so there is no glue and no waiting time before you test it.

How tight should the nuts be on a chrome coupling?

Hand tight, then a small extra turn with a cloth wrapped round. Going at it with grips marks the finish and can crush the seal so it leaks.
