Our Heated Curved Chrome Towel Rail 500mm x 1200mm is the tall one in the range. It keeps a slim 500mm footprint on the wall but stretches up to 1200mm, so you get lots of bars for towels without taking up much width.

Why go tall

In narrow bathrooms, the space beside a basin or between a door and the bath is often tall but not wide. This rail fits those spots and still gives room for several towels. The curved bars stand off the wall a bit, which helps towels dry rather than sitting flat and damp.

As with any chrome rail, the heat output is lower than a painted rail the same size. It’s great for drying and warming towels. If the room needs real heating as well, ask about sizing at the counter.

What you’ll need

• Two radiator valves, straight or angled to suit the pipes.
• Fixings suitable for your wall. Plasterboard needs proper cavity fixings for a rail this tall.
• Optionally, an electric element and T-piece so it works with the heating off.

Fitting tips

Mark the bracket positions with a level, as any lean is obvious over 1200mm. Check the pipe centres before cutting tails. Bleed after filling and give the chrome a wipe at the end.

Common Questions

Is a 1200mm high rail too tall for plasterboard?

Not if it is fixed properly. Screw the brackets into timber studs or noggins, or use heavy duty cavity anchors that can take a full, wet load of towels.

Tall chrome rail: what stops it rusting?

Keep the system topped up with inhibitor, so the inside does not corrode, and wipe the outside dry. Rust spots on chrome usually start where the plating has been scratched.

Can it run in summer when the heating is off?

Yes, if you fit an electric element with a T piece to make it dual fuel. Ask at the counter which element suits this rail.
