Description

Every heating or water system needs a low point to drain from, and the Hep2O Brass Drain Cock provides one on plastic pipe. It has a 15mm spigot that pushes into a Hep2O socket, and a brass body with a hose outlet and a spindle to open it.

Fitting the Hep2O Brass Drain Cock

Put it at the lowest point of the circuit, for example at the foot of a drop or under the lowest radiator. Push the spigot fully into the socket of a tee or elbow until it locks. No support sleeve is needed on the spigot. Position the outlet so a hose can be pushed on easily, and keep it clear of floorboards.

To empty the system, push a hose onto the outlet, run it to a drain and turn the spindle a couple of turns. Open a vent or bleed screw higher up, so air gets in and the water runs freely. Close the spindle firmly afterwards.

Valves for the same system are in our Hep2O fittings range.

Common Questions

How do I open a Hep2O drain cock?

Push a hose onto the outlet first, then turn the square spindle anticlockwise with a drain cock key or small spanner.

Can the drain cock go straight onto pipe?

No. It has a spigot, so it goes into a socket such as a tee branch, elbow or reducer.

Why does the drain cock drip after use?

Grit can sit on the seat. Open it a turn to flush, then close it firmly. A dripping one may need a new washer or a fresh drain cock.
