Hep2O Equal Straight Coupler 10mm to 28mm

Joining two lengths of plastic pipe end to end takes a Hep2O Equal Straight Coupler. Both ends are Push Fit sockets of the same size, and the pipe locks in as soon as it is pushed home.

Fitting a Hep2O Equal Straight Coupler

A hacksaw leaves a ragged end, so use a plastic pipe cutter. Put a support sleeve in each pipe end. Mark the insertion depth, push each pipe fully home, and tug to check. It also takes copper, which makes it handy for joining new plastic onto an old copper run.

10mm is for microbore heating. For most household pipework you will want 15mm or 22mm. 28mm suits bigger supplies. It can also be taken apart later with a Hepkey, so it is useful for repairs and alterations as well as new work. A spare pair of every size rarely goes to waste on a call-out.

Common Questions

Can I use a Hep2O coupler on copper pipe? Yes, Hep2O is made to work with copper, so you can join copper to copper or plastic to copper. Only the plastic pipe needs a SmartSleeve insert.

Is Hep2O suitable for central heating? Yes, it is rated for hot and cold water and central heating up to 95°C, at 12 bar at 20°C or 6 bar at 95°C. It is not for gas.

Does Hep2O pipe need inserts? Yes, every cut end of Hep2O plastic pipe should have a SmartSleeve pushed in before it goes into the fitting. It keeps the pipe round so the seal grips properly.

How do I remove a Hep2O fitting? Use the HepKey demounting tool, which releases the grip so the pipe slides back out cleanly. Avoid forcing it or you risk damaging the pipe.

Can I mix Hep2O and Speedfit? We would stick to one system. Pipes, inserts and fittings from different push-fit makers are not guaranteed to match, so mixing them is a gamble.

How long does Hep2O last? Hep2O comes with a 50 year guarantee, and it is Kitemarked and WRAS approved.

How do I know the pipe is pushed in properly? Hep2O has In4Sure joint recognition built in, which lets you know when the pipe has gone fully home in the fitting.
