A Polyplumb Shut-Off Valve is an inline isolating valve with Push Fit sockets on both ends. Close it and the pipe beyond is dead, so you can work on the outlet without draining the whole system.
Fitting a Polyplumb Shut-Off Valve
Good practice is to fit an isolation point before every tap, toilet cistern and appliance. That turns a washer change into a five minute job rather than a drain down. The 15mm size joins plastic or copper pipe. Fit it where the handle or slot can be reached through an access panel.
- Size: 15mm
- Inline shut off valve
- Polyplumb Push Fit socket each end
- Plastic or copper pipe
Use a stiffener in each plastic pipe end and push both pipes fully home. Check the flow direction marking, if there is one, before you fit it. Open and close it once after fitting, so you know it moves freely. The rest of the valves are in Polyplumb fittings.

Common Questions
What is a shut-off valve used for?
It isolates a tap, cistern or appliance so it can be worked on without draining the whole system. A washer change becomes a five minute job.
Where should a shut-off valve be fitted?
Before each tap, cistern and appliance, in a spot that can be reached later, such as behind an access panel or in a vanity unit.
Can it go on copper pipe?
Yes, the Push Fit sockets take copper as well as plastic pipe. Deburr the copper so it does not damage the O ring.
