A sharp elbow slows water down and adds noise, and the End Feed Long Radius Bend/Elbow avoids that with a wider sweep. It still turns the pipe through a right angle, but over a longer curve, so there is less resistance in the run.

When to use an End Feed Long Radius Bend/Elbow

Use it on pumped heating circuits, long main runs and anywhere flow matters, for example close to a pump or on a primary circuit. It also looks tidier on exposed pipework because it mimics a machine bend. The trade-off is that it takes up more room than a standard elbow.

It is an End Feed fitting, so clean and flux both pipe ends and sockets, warm the bend through and run solder round each mouth.
