Solder Ring Part Crossover

The Solder Ring Part Crossover is a copper Solder Ring part crossover (passover bend) for taking one pipe over another, available in 15mm and 22mm. Solder is built into the fitting, so the joint is made by cleaning, fluxing and heating, with no extra solder needed.

A part crossover is mostly used on central heating pipework. It bows partly over a pipe that is already there, which helps where space is tight.

To obtain perfect joints, the inside of the fitting and the outside of the copper pipe are cleaned using coarse steel wool, flux paste is applied, the pipe is inserted into the fitting and heat applied from a portable propane torch until a ring of solder shows at the edges of the fitting. To obtain a durable joint, water must not be poured on the solder joint to cool it. Fittings are now made with lead-free solder.

This is a simple and cost effective method of jointing copper tubes to standard EN 1057.

What is a solder ring part crossover? It is a copper fitting with a small bow in it, so one pipe can be taken partly over another where space is tight. The solder is already in the fitting, so you just clean, flux and heat.

What is the difference between a part and a full crossover? A part crossover only bows partly over the other pipe, which is handy where space is tight. A full crossover takes the pipe clean over the top.

Can I use a part crossover on hot and cold water? Yes, it can go on direct and indirect hot and cold domestic water as well as heating. It is made with lead-free solder and comes in 15mm and 22mm.
